amazing fishing

If you are looking for a true Alaskan wilderness fishing experience with ocean, river and lake fishing opportunities I would highly recommend Fisherman's Inn in Port Alexander.

The lodge itself was really nice and comfortable (imagine finding a hot tub in a place only accessible by boat or plane!) Our family of 5 (3 teenage boys) just spent a week with Kevin and Karen Mulligan and we had the family trip of a lifetime. Kevin and Karen host a small group at their Inn and make you feel like you are visiting friends almost immediately. Kevin flies you out by float plane to remote lakes and streams to fly fish for trout and salmon where few people ever have access to go. We kayaked on the bay and our sons even wake boarded one afternoon. Hiking through the Alaskan wilderness where we say deer, bear, and eagles was amazing. Their friend Glen Smith of Chatham Strait Charters took us out on his boat where we caught salmon, Halibut, ling cod and yellow eye. No shoulder to shoulder fishing here either as they only host small groups (8 or less). And when you come back to the Inn at the end of the day Karen has a wonderful meal waiting and a bottomless cookie jar for evening snacks.

We had a blast at Fisherman's Inn with the opportunity for a total experience. We hiked to the back bays, went fly fishing with Kevin for rainbows, silvers, and steelhead along with also catching some beautiful king salmon, sockeye salmon, halibut, and rock bass.
